Background: Pre-extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (pre-XDR-TB), defined as multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) with additional resistance to any fluoroquinolone (FQ) is difficult to treat. We assessed whether the use of new or repurposed drugs (bedaquiline, delamanid, linezolid, carbapenem, clofazimine, pretomanid) mitigated treatment failure of pre-XDR-TB. Methods: MDR-TB patients managed in the Taiwan MDR-TB consortium between July 2009–December 2019 were eligible. Treatment outcomes at 30 months were assessed. Logistic regression models were constructed to investigate factors associated with treatment outcomes.
