Popis: This paper presents the results of a study carried out on people with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP), in which a treatment using a specific training program was applied during three months. The program was designed with the aim of improving visual function in people with restricted visual field and contrast sensitivity, as is the case of people with RP. It is based on software that generates luminous stimuli of varying duration and intensity, seen through a Head Mounted Display mechanism (HMD), and registers the stimuli perceived by the person. The results obtained show improvement in the visual function of a considerable number of those who attended the training sessions and whose initial visual deficit made the application of a training program possible. We have confirmed that these improvements continue, and in some cases increase, three months after completion of the treatment with the trainer. The study includes an initial phase in which the set of tests to be used were evaluated in order to assess the visual capacity of the subjects and their progress with the treatment; for which we did a comparative study with a control group with normal vision.
