Popis:	The article analyzes literature data on the development of aortic root abscess in patients with septic endocarditis, which is a frequent cause of this complication and requires immediate surgical treatment. At the same time, on the example of own clinical observation, it is shown that an aortic root abscess can also occur in patients with surgical sepsis as a manifestation of metastasis from an extracardiac septic focus in septicopyemia.
