Popis: Some intracellular pathogens can directly invade neighboring host cells in cell culture, but it is unclear how this happens in vivo. Here, Tran et al. describe an intracellular bacterium that forms filaments to spread between intestinal epithelial cells in its host nematode, in a process regulated by a conserved nutrient-sensing pathway.
