Popis: Pandemics are disrupting the global food supply chain. The 21st century has seen the frequent emergence of natural and human disasters, including droughts and pandemics. Together their impacts can be exacerbated, leading to severe economic stress and malnutrition, especially in developing countries. Understanding how agricultural risks interact in identifying appropriate policies to address them together and separately is important for maintaining a strong global food supply. Here we assess the impact of disasters such as the Covid-19 pandemic in the context of food and agriculture and environment. The poorest countries with the least responsibility for climate change are also the ones that will be hardest hit, but they also need funding to help them make the transition to a sustainable economy. This requires a degree of cooperation that countries around the world seem reluctant to offer. For example, in the Covid-19 crisis, we saw that the poorest were the most affected.
