Popis: The article describes the development of Tuchola’s daily press in years 1920-1939. The first periodical published in Tuchola in 1875 was the German-language “Kreis-Blatt des Königlichen Landraths Amtes zu-Tuchel“. The first Polish-language periodical, “Orędownik na Powiat Tucholski”, appeared in 1920. Other local periodicals of the interwar period were: “Gazeta Tucholska” and “Głos Tucholski”. At first, periodicals were related to the local government. They were printed to provide information on the local authorities’ laws and regulations. The contents of these periodicals, for example in “Orędownik na Powiat Tucholski”, were divided into two parts: official and unofficial. The latter contained mainly advertisements, but with time the periodical became a major element of Tuchola’s press market. It provided information on local and regional events, cultural announcement as well as first articles on local history.
