Introduction: The implementation of electronic medical records is a complex process. It has been suggested that the main cause of failure in the implementation of the digital medical record is the resistance to change on the part of the members of the healthcare team. Objective: To describe the factors associated with the resistance behavior of nursing staff in a public institution. Methods: An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional, descriptive study was carried out. The sample consisted of 103 participants, selected by means of a non-probabilistic convenience sample. A self-administered questionnaire was used, which included user resistance behavior and impact factors. Results: A prevalence of 81.6% was obtained, corresponding to the female gender. The age range with the highest prevalence was between 35 and 45 years, with 42%. It was found that in the case of the factors "User resistance behavior" and "Resistance to change" 50% of the responses were negative, the rest of the factors had negative scores less than or equal to 10%. Of note, the factors "Perceived Usefulness", "Perceived Ease of Use", "Perceived Value", and "Organizational Support for Change" had positive scores greater than 80%. Conclusions: The factors were user resistance behavior and resistance to change. In turn, differences were found in 5 dimensions according to sex, with higher scores in the male sex, and in the case of the level of training, differences were only found in organizational support. |
