Popis: This paper describes the main trends and forms of private noble charity in education in the Danube region in the XIX - early XX century. It is noted that, in spite of the leading position of NGOs in the field of charity, the activities of individuals played an important role in supporting training and education of young people. The development of private charity was due to the inability of the state to provide a worthy charity to socially disadvantaged, particularly in the acquisition of education. In this article, based on an analysis of archival documents dealing with specific examples of using the nobility of parish schools, charters schools, gymnasiums and schools of the region.
