ObjectiveNeuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) is an inflammatory disease preferentially affects the optic nerve and the spinal cord. The first attack usually occurs in the third or fourth decade, though patients with disease onset in the fifties or later are not uncommon.
