Popis: | In order to increase the production of onion bulbs, the study to determine the best combination of inputs that would maximize the profit of producers was conducted in the Far North Cameroon. The experimental used is a complete factor plan design. Three crop systems (“billon”, board and locker) combined with two doses (D1 and D2) of fertilizer, repeated five times, were applied to two onion varieties. Analysis of the data with SPSS and GAMS software reveals that yields are not significantly different at the 5% threshold between the crops systems applied to the two onion varieties. But the local variety had the best profit of 1,769,448 Fcfa with the locker system at the dose of 2,222 kg/ha of fertilizer. This resulted in an optimal profit of 503,724 Fcfa for zero marginal productivity. Comparison of marginal production productivity showed that it would be preferable to produce with the local Goudami variety in locker mode compared to “billon” and board practices. This better combination of onion bulb production inputs is determined to improve the technical practice of onion production. |
