Objective To investigate the effect of self-made onion-honey cataplasm on relief of constipation in patients with schizophrenia. Methods A convenient sample of 42 hospitalized patients with schizophrenia were recruited as research objects. Based on the routine care, a daily diet therapy with self-made onion-honey cataplasm (60～80 g) was administrated to relieving the constipation. The constipation condition was evaluated by recoding defecation interval and defecation time.
