Popis: | The tourism sector's development is a crucial strategy for enhancing both local and global economies, harnessing the inherent potential of regions, particularly in tourism management. Given the rich tapestry of tourism and culture in Lampung province, there is a compelling need to transform designated areas into tourist villages through Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes). Such a transformation, rooted in local potential, demands community engagement and innovation to continually evolve these areas into thriving tourist destinations. This research investigates the trajectory of ecotourism development via BUMDes, focusing on Lampung Province, with a specific inquiry into achieving international competitiveness and responsible tourism practices. Employing a normative research methodology with a statutory approach, the analysis utilizes content analysis techniques. The findings underscore two key insights: firstly, empowering rural communities through BUMDes fosters welfare enhancement, aligning with broader development goals. Secondly, local community-driven BUMDes, supported by Pokdarwis (tourism awareness groups), catalyze tourism development, leveraging village contributions and donations. Failure to synergize tourism potential with BUMDes risks missing opportunities to showcase Lampung Province's rich cultural and ecotourism offerings on both national and international platforms. |
