Popis: SARS-CoV-2 infection damages the airways. Here the authors show that SARS-CoV-2 infection induces the rapid loss of airway motile cilia, resulting in altered cilia clearance function. Cilia loss is preceded by reduced expression of the ciliogenesis regulator Foxj1.
