Under the background of the long-term coexistence of the 4th and 5th Generation Mobile Communication Technology (4G and 5G), as the Segment Routing (SRv6) protocol standard based on the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) forwarding plane is basically mature, SRv6 and Multi Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) interoperability and convergence in the mobile bearer network has been highlighted. This article discusses the methods on how to smoothly enable the interoperability and convergence of SRv6 and MPLS. It also proposes an efficient approach for all telecommunication operators to consult. |
