Popis: | The study aims to understand how globalization is linked to the impact on food courtyards and architecture and the use of the growing food culture in general and in the eastern region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under study in particular. Which quickly spreads in the area under study, a building that contains only restaurants, cafes and anything related to food. Such buildings have abounded among residential neighbourhoods. In order to understand this trend and its repercussions on people and the built environment, The research used questionnaires and interviews, including an attempt to derive results that explain the impact of globalization on food consumption patterns and on the architectural planning of places and buildings in Dammam City in the eastern area, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As the restaurants is a kind of entertainment and a source of social communication in an area with limited recreational places. That can show the result of linking between Food and architecture are changing lifestyles among people. The research confirms that a sustainable approach to designing outdoor dining plazas and buildings is essential towards a more sustainable and healthy life. The research attempts to have a direct relationship between globalization and the change of the coastal local architecture in the city of Dammam in the last three decades. Which led to a change in the architectural identity and the culture of the people.
