Popis: Bordetella pertussis (Bp), the causative agent of pertussis, continues to circulate and it’s not well understood how (sub)clinical infections shape immune memory to Bp and vaccination. Here, using a mutant Bp strain lacking antigens of the acellular pertussis vaccine, the authors show how prior exposure to Bp shapes the mucosal antibody response to booster vaccination.
