We analyze the existence of a moving attractor for a semi-linear parabolic equation. The analysis is carried out using a coordinate transformation to obtain the equation in moving coordinates and the contractions of the solutions to travelling wave solutions. We show that a moving attractor exists if the linearized system on the moving frame follows a stability condition. Application of moving attractor in long term error analysis is discussed with numerical examples. |
