High Performance Low Noise Amplifier for Operations in Lower ISM Band

Popis: Increasing wireless standards pushes the limits on the nonlinearity of the receivers. The mobile devices, being battery operated forces the power constrains on the design of RF receivers. LNA being the first block of the system, requires large gain and maximum linearity to improve the performance of the entire RF receiver. The excellent isolation properties are also one of the uncompromised requirement of modern receivers. A high performance LNA is the need of an RF receiver, which satisfies all the stated needs. The paper presents a high performance LNA architecture to cater the requirements of the modern day RF receivers. The proposed LNA is designed in Cadence Virtuoso environment with 180 nm GPDK. The proposed LNA offers IIP3 as high as 6.47 dBm, whereas 108 dBm value of IIP2 is achieved. Noise Fig of 6 dB is offered by the proposed LNA. The values of S11, S22 and S12 is obtained as -13.84 dB, -3.9 dB and 25.7 dB, respectively. The proposed LNA provides gain of 17.4 dB and consumes almost 18 mW of power from the supply of 1.8 V.
