Popis: After having commemorated the fortieth anniversary of our current democratic Constitution and, therefore, to remember what was and what the process of democratic transition entailed, the wide ignorance about the fundamental role played by the Catholic Church is striking in the passage from an authoritarian political regime to a fully democratic one. Moreover, on many occasions the institution is identified with one of the main elements of political immobility. In that sense, the fundamental purpose of the research presented here is not only to explain that the Catholic Church was one of the fundamental engines of political change in Spain, but make know how explain the way in which it did it and what were the key moments of its action towards to the creation of the current democratic and social State of Law that we have in our country.
