Languages have constantly influenced each other throughout history. This interaction is mostly shaped by non-linguistic reasons. The source language, which we can define as the dominant language, gives the target language various grammatical elements by borrowing or copying it. Contemporary Turkic dialects have also been influenced by Russian throughout history due to geographical and political reasons. In this context, concept and grammatical translations are the leading elements. In Mehmet Özeren's book, “Çağdaş Türk Lehçelerinde Rusçadan Yapılan Kavram ve Gramer Çevirileri”, the concept and grammatical translations in the languages of bilingual Turkic communities, which have been shaped under the influence of Russian, especially since the first quarter of the 20th century, are discussed. The work is important in terms of handling the affixes, syntax and word categories in sixteen modern Turkic dialects. In this study, a review / introduction will be made on “Çağdaş Türk Lehçelerinde Rusçadan Yapılan Kavram ve Gramer Çevirileri”. |
