Popis: Ergonomics occupies a special place in the occupational health and safety, which is the dimension of the intellectual capital and has gained importance in practice by increasing importance in the process of information society. Ergonomics, which is a sign of harmony between working environment and employees in a workplace, is an important part of preventing work accidents in occupational health and safety practices. In a sense, ergonomics, where occupational health and safety can be assessed in the form of preventive medicine, also allows prevention of serious accidents by simple measures. Although the importance of ergonomics has been noticed and it has begun to take its place in field applications and theoretical studies, there is not yet enough work in certain areas to reveal the relationship between ergonomics and occupational health and safety. Therefore, in this research, it is aimed to examine the ergonomics in terms of occupational health and safety in SPA centers which is an increasingly economic sector. In this context, a survey was conducted on 89 SPA center employees who worked in various SPA centers between 25 June and 25 July 2017 in Antalya province and volunteered to participate in the research. The data obtained in the study were analyzed in accordance with the descriptive screening model and the results were reported. According to the results of the research, it was found that ergonomics has not taken a sufficient place in literature and field applications in tourism facilities and SPA centers in particular. In addition, occupational disorders related to ergonomics (muscular and skeletal system disorders, health problems related to vision and hearing) appear to be serious in SPA centers. The results of differential analysis by demographic characteristics show that these disorders are similar in all demographic groups (gender, age, educational background, professional experience). For this reason, businesses should be directed to this area which includes increasing the literature that is related to the field, comprehensive field applications and regulation of researches, and economic evaluations in risk analysis.
