Popis: The objective of this review was to discuss viral infection byHuman papillomavirus because of its elevated incidence amongwomen and their respective partners, as well as the relationbetween the virus groups found in women with cervicalintraepithelial neoplasia or normal women and their respectivepartners. The presence of human papillomavirus in male partnersdoes not necessarily implicate the presence of humanpapillomavirus or even cervical epithelial neoplasia in their femalepartners. Peniscopy, penile biopsy, and Human papillomavirusmolecular biology tests are discussed in the review. The medicalevaluation of male partners is essential to treat clinical lesionsand to make them aware of the sexually transmitted character ofthis infection and the need for peniscopy.
