Popis: | Arterial hypertension (HTN) is one of the most prevalent diseases all over the word. There are many studies and reviews about the coexistence of HTN with coronary, cerebrovascular and renal diseases. However, sometimes clinicians do not search for aortic disease in hypertensive patients. The coexistence of HTN and various aortic diseases raises peculiar issues regarding monitoring and managing of these patients. This review presents data about HTN and aortic aneurism, aortic coarctation and aortic valve disease, emphasizing the particularities of the diagnosis and management of HTN in these patients. Also, a part of the review will focus on the evaluation of arterial stiffness and its clinical implications. |
