Popis: | Traumatic injury results in significant physiological changes that place patients at elevated risk for venous thromboembolism (VTE). Percutaneous catheter-directed thrombolysis has been recommended as a first-line therapy for treatment of VTE but is relatively contraindicated in trauma cases due to increased risk of bleeding. The authors present a case to support the opinion that thrombolysis for trauma-associated inferior vena caval thrombosis can be safe in selected patients, with discussion of existing literature. |
