This study result paper, identifies the professional aspirations and preferences of students in grades 10 and 11 in official and private educational institutions in the municipalities of Norte, Bajo Cauca and Northeast Antioquia (Colombia). A sample of 568 students from urban and rural institutions was taken to develop the research. A Likert scale was applied to them and the results were crossed with variables such as gender, rural and urban area, development of the municipalities, and aspirations regarding the available academic offer. The results evidenced that at the moment of choosing, the students stay in the traditional tendencies. A lack of professional orientation in the schools was inferred, as well as low pertinence of the educational offer to respond to the needs of the regional development. The main conclusion drawn is that the reality of the territory makes the offer of virtual programs that contribute to the permanence of young people in the region a potential scheme. |
