Popis: Progressive respiratory failure is the primary cause of death in patients with COVID-19, but pathologies in other tissues may also occur. Here the authors report that adrenal tropism of SARS-CoV-2 is associated with adrenalitis, reduced adrenal cortisol levels and severe adrenal damage in a post-mortem case series of patients with severe fatal COVID-19.
