Introduction: Cleft lip or palate is one of the birth abnormalities that has medical, psychological, social, and economic impacts. Patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate have a nasal deformity even after reconstruction. The aim of study is to determine nasoendoscopic findings and nasal anthropometry in after labiopalatoplasty. Method: Descriptive observational study was conducted at ORL-HNS clinic at our institution during February and March 2018, followed by 31 post labiopalatoplasty unilateral patients. Assessment was performed by nasoendoscopic and nasal anthropometry. Result: Cleft lip and palate mostly occurred on the left side. All subjects have septal deviation. Almost all of them had adenoid hypertrophy (93.5%), and inferior turbinate hypertrophy on the non-cleft side (51.6%). Conclusions: Nasoendoscopic findings in post labiopalatoplasty unilateral patients showed abnormalities such as septal deviation, hypertrophy adenoid, and inferior turbinate hypertrophy that influence nasal valve. |
