This is the Quebec debate about the teaching of national history in high school that has raged since the reform initiated in 2001. The authors point out that the Quebec history teaching is focused on the long–citizenship training, and programs are reformed and the debate they have generated. They then analyze the relationship between history and current during the Quebec and Canadian nationalism. Finally, they analyze the position of some scholars in this debate. The authors do not hide their opposition to the Quebec nationalist discourse chauvinistic opponents of the program, even if they are themselves Quebec nationalists, and they do not support the program or the state, even if they want to deny the patter of opponents to the program and they support the idea of the program focus on the development of critical skills and attitudes associated with the story. They want, with this article, contribute to the creation of an international educa-tionalists struggling with the same problem. |
