| Popis: | After examining the ancient sources about βούπρηστις, the author focuses on the text of Geoponica 17, 18 and reassesses the variant readings διαβραχέντας (B) and ἐναποβρέξαντες (L) instead of Beckh’s conjectural reading τρίψαντες pro διὰ παντός (FM). The conclusion is that the history of Geoponica’s handwritten tradition does not allow an unequivocal choice between the two readings. Therefore, in a future edition of Geoponica the critical text should be ‘open’ to both of these solutions. |
