Application of cognitive skills in science and technology lesson plans in preschool settings

Popis: | This study was conducted to analyze the presence of cognitive skills in teaching and learning in preschool settings for components which contained science and technology. Hermeneutics was used as the research method by using 14 daily lesson plans of a practicum teacher. Hermeneutics was used to interpret the daily lesson plans to analyze the presence of cognitive skills in science and technologycomponents taught by the practicum teacher. The results obtained indicatedthat the practicum teacher was still lacking inpractical application involving cognitive skills teaching and learning. Most of the teaching and learning activities and the teaching aids didnot improvethe students’ cognitive processes. The Education Ministry of Malaysia should provide suitable courses related to the application of cognitive skills in preschool teachings |
