Objective: The study was carried out to evaluate the role of the AST (Aspartate transaminase)/ALT (Alanine transaminase) ratio as an indicator of the functional severity in people with chronic heart failure (CHF) with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. Methods: A prospective cross-sectional study was conducted in a tertiary care centre in South India among the individuals who had left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of ≤40 %.
