As a treatment modality, HP/TAZ has a combinatory therapeutic effect because it contains both a corticosteroid (HP) and a retinoid (TAZ) component. Here, we review the important clinical efficacy and safety data derived from pivotal clinical trials for HP/TAZ in the treatment of plaque psoriasis. We also discuss the mechanism of action, dosage guidelines, pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics, and clinical considerations for HP/TAZ, including why HP/TAZ should be avoided in pregnant patients. Keywords: halobetasol propionate, tazarotene, Duobrii, psoriasis, plaque, topical
