| Popis: | The present paper deals with some of James Thurber’s works that feature parody. Analyzed is the collection of short stories “Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Guide to English Usage.” It is argued that the humorous effect is achieved through the interplay of various types of discourses. The article also addresses the terms “intertextuality”, “interdiscursivity”, and other relevant notions. |
