The renewable energy sources draw interest across the World as such energy sources play an important role both in preserving the ecological balance of the World and avoiding external dependence in energy supply. Many countries go towards renewable energy sources for securing the energy supply. Aim of this study is to investigate Turkey’s and European Union’s potential in terms of renewable energy and the incentive mechanisms used as policy means, and to reveal their successful or ineffective sides. As a result of the study it was found that there is high potential for Turkey’s renewable energy policy and some strong steps have been taken, but there is still a need for more time and steps for establishing an effective renewable energy market. |
