Patients with oral-maxillofacial injuries, particularly those with intraoral loss or mutilation, have special features that should be evaluated by the providers of the emergency dentistry service. Risks and accidents can happen during emergency treatment in the mouth area when the providers’ training in relation to this topic is inadequate. These features are reported, as well as the most common emergencies and possible complications. |
