Popis: The influence of the total electromagnetic field on the concentration of air ions in the ambient air has been studied. The numbers of positive and negative air ions have been measured at a distance of 10 cm from the head surface of children 1—4 days and 2—4 years old. It has been found that the number of negative ions decreased on the average by 88% near a newborn baby оand by 9% near a child 2—4 years old. The number of positive ions decreased on the average by 34% near a newborn baby and remained unchanged near a child 2—4 years old. A newborn baby affects more strongly the ionic composition of the ambient air, because osseous structures and soft tissues of skull form a weaker barrier for the brain electromagnetic field.
