Popis: | In 1971, Juan Navarro Baldeweg began a stay at the Center for Advanced Visual Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he developed a series of interventions oriented to the urban regeneration of the Charles River. The proposals included devices to record information of the levels of air pollution; an ecological artificial system, designed for the reforestation of the river banks, and an artificial ecosystem that reproduced fragments of landscapes from different locations. This article proposes the revision of these utopian proposals, through drawings and photomontages, which constitute the basis of his artistic interests, since then, oriented to installations and architectural projects through systems that tend towards the dematerialization of the object; subordinating the physical matter to the disposition of energies and exploring, therefore, natural phenomena in their phenomenological aspects. |
