Read in a dissident way, without adhering to any theoretical framework that offers a naturalistic, social, or biological model of sex and gender, or based on the ontological issue of the sacredness of the principle of non-contradiction, sor Juana's work reveals to be fascinating, profound, disobedient, overflowing. This is the reason why I consider the poem "Señor: para responderos" illuminating for investigating the question of sex, a sex that is free of its own gender and is not influenced or reduced to a definition coming from biology, genealogy, sociology or psychology. |
