Popis: The authors describe a vesicular transporter, VST-1, that is required in glutamatergic chemosensory neurons for chemotactic avoidance behavior in C. elegans. VST-1 antagonizes VGLUT-dependent packaging of glutamate into synaptic vesicles and determines the strength of synaptic glutamate signaling.
