Canada is a multicultural medley, and this mixing of races, histories and cultures is revealed in literature, but even more in the literatures of ethnic minorities, among which stands out the Chinese Canadian one. Their literary products mirror the cultural hybridism of its community and history is the central theme of its creations. It is noticeable how most of Chinese Canadian writers start from the perspective of the reflex of its historical cultural identity and use all the necessary resources and strategies to show it. The main objective of this research is to do a literary discourse analysis that shows how Chinese Canadian historical cultural identity is reflected in SKY Lee’s novel Disappearing Moon Cafe through the stylistic device allusion. |
