INTRODUCTION: The purpose of this cross-sectional study is; the level of satisfaction with the chronic illness of the individuals with chronic illnesses, the determination of the education subjects they need and the effect of the education needs on the care satisfaction. METHODS: A sample of 142 patients who lived in internal and surgical clinics between May 2017 and September 2017, and who agreed to participate in the study and were 18 years of age or older, had no communication problems. It was gathered from the patients who agreed to participate in the study through the face-to-face interview method. Data were collected using the personal information form, the Chronic Illness Care Assessment Scale and the Patient Learning Needs Scale. RESULTS: The mean score of the chronic care assessment scale in our study was found to be 3.16 +- 0.89. In our study, it was determined that the average score of the learning needs scale was 193.21 +- 40.68. When the significance levels of the subscales were examined, it was determined that the highest significance score belonged to the subscales of drugs (4.20) and that the lowest significance score belongs to the emotional feelings (3.49) subscales. There was a significant relationship between medication sub-dimension and working status (t = -2,27; p = 0,02). In the marital status, it was determined that the significance of HRQOL significantly correlated with the emotional state (t = -2,88; p = 0,005) and skin care (t = -2,48; p = 0,01) subscales. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION: As a result of this study; it was observed that as the level of satisfaction of the educational needs of the patients increased, the satisfaction of care increased too. |
