Popis: This is by no means a new idea, yet the current number and variety of citizen science initiatives attest of the growing opportunities for public participation in the enrichment and circulation of naturalist knowledge. In an increasingly complex context involving scientific, technological, social and political factors, this article aims to analyze the information flow produced by the French Citizen Science programs relating to marine and coastal biodiversity and its place in the information governance of the environment. Based on an online questionnaire and semi-directive interviews, the study gives voice to program coordinators and potential or proven users of this information. The results make it possible to establish the path of production, structuring and use of geographical information, as well as the actors and devices involved. Five categories of use related to knowledge and management of marine and coastal biodiversity were also identified.
