Popis: Abstract This resource contains digitally recorded common neuromuscular deficits that impact the normal functions of the upper and lower limbs. Abnormal patterns of movement were systematically analyzed to review synergistic muscle group actions and innervations. Cutaneous deficits were included where relevant to aid in differential diagnosis of motor nerve impairments. Text summarizing key anatomical relationships follows each simulation enabling learners to assimilate information vital to the anatomical localization of neuromuscular deficits. They provide learners with step-by-step analyses of the key anatomical relations that are critical to the development of diagnostic skills and patient management strategies. Organizing neuromuscular deficits into discrete videos is highly effective in teaching learners a large volume of information without overwhelming them all at once. Exposing preclinical students to patient simulations provides them with a glimpse into the comprehensive evaluation of the musculoskeletal system and its innervation. Framing the deficits in a clinically relevant manner not only serves to solidify what students have learned from their courses, but also creates confidence by demonstrating how they will approach patient problems in their clinical years. These observations are supported by recent improvements in learner performance on block and subject shelf exams.
