Popis: The concept of Product Service System (PSS) proposes a business model focused on providing the client a specific result instead of just a physical product. Although much research has stipulated that culture is an essential element to PSS development, the specific relationship between these two subjects is not well understood. Therefore, the current study seeks to illustrate what kind of culture will be necessary to establish PSS in companies, and provides a theoretical construct to develop a better understanding of this issue. Based on a literature review, we constructed a framework to explain how culture dimensions relate to PSS. The results indicate that it will be easier to develop PSS in an environment with low uncertainty avoidance, collectivism, femininity and long-term orientation. In an era of globalization, a better understanding of culture’s role on product service systems will allow companies to improve the development of this business model.
