Popis: | Based on a large corpus of articles published in L’Arche, the monthly magazine of the Unified Jewish Social Fund, the authors analyze the reactions held within the FSJU when faced with the arrival of co-religionists from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia after these countries’ independence. They show how the aid provided to those newcomers is marked by post-Shoah conditions, that is to say the establishment of a reception structure for survivors, in order to rebuild the Jewish community. of France. Thus, as soon as they arrived in France, North African nationals have been essential in the creation of various community organizations and are a central element the revitalization of the larger Jewish community in France. |
