Scientific academic libraries of Ukraine are an active participants in modern sociocultural activities, and their high potential allows to use unique samples of the world’s scientific and cultural heritage for the renewal and consolidation of the sociocultural space of Ukraine. The article analyzes how Ukrainian historiographical discourse covers the problems of sociocultural activities of libraries in the system of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The use of bibliographic search methods along with systematic generalization and analytical-synthetic processing of documents made it possible to identify a wide range of sources on the problem.The scientific works on the issue the article covers by the method of historiographical analysis were combined into several groups according to the directions of work of library institutions. The peculiarity of the sociocultural activity of academic scientific libraries of Ukraine is its scientific content, innovative approaches using modern information and communication technologies and a combination of various multicultural and multidisciplinary foundations. Among the scientific works on the libraries of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the most publications are devoted to the sociocultural activities of V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, which acts as a leading research, methodical, organizational, informational, cultural, and artistic center of the library system of Ukraine. One of the most researched areas of sociocultural activity of academic research libraries turned out to be the information and communication direction, which is especially in demand in modern conditions, taking into account the general digitization of social, political and cultural life. |
