Popis: The relations between the Royal Academy of Inscriptions and Belles-Lettres and the universities at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries appear hollow in various sources including the minutes of the royal institution, its paper history and its metal productions (in particular tokens). If the academic trajectories of some academics are mentioned in their funeral eulogies, it is more to underline the supremacy of the Academy than to enhance their scientific skills. We feel, however, that the Academy and Universities were reforming in the 18th century by observing and feeding each other with their intellectual reflections.
