Popis: The professional handling of research data in accordance with the principles of good scientific practice has gained increasing importance across all scientific disciplines, as reflected in the growing demands of funding institutions, journals, and research organisations. In light of this, the question arises of how libraries and other information infrastructure institutions can teach strategies for structured and sustainable research data management (RDM) to early-career researchers. This article describes the adaptation and translation of the escape game “Mission RDM” into a German version and provides practical guidance for its implementation. The aim of the game is to use gamification elements to convey fundamental concepts of research data management – such as the data lifecycle, archiving standards, and best practices in file management – in an engaging manner. The article discusses practical experiences from the trainings offered by the University Library Augsburg, examines the didactic challenges, and highlights the potential of “Mission FDM” as a flexible teaching format in the field of RDM.
