The objective of this work is to present a preliminary analysis of miscellaneous objects from three sites in the Puna of Salta (Argentina): Alero Cuevas, Abra de Minas, and Cueva Inca Viejo. The main materials included in this analysis were strings of animal, vegetal fiber, and leather which have a low presence in the archaeological findings in general. The results of this analysis allow us to approach different dimensions of textile practices and explore their link with macroregional interaction, mining production, and rituality. With this work, we contribute to the knowledge of the variability of materials used and the techniques applied to the textile work by the prehispanic population during the Early period and Late-Inca period in the Puna of Salta. |
