Tlie possibilit´ of approaching tlie study of the social practices in urban areas is a fonn of reflection that orients a part of so-called cultural studies. In tliis spirit our woik explores die "night life" of tlie port of Veracruz. In the process an attempt lias been made to analyze some of the mechanisms of socialization that establish themselves in the night clubs during tlie weekends; where spaces, subjects and deeds contribute to the feeling and identity of being a person of tlie port ("porteflo"). |
